Cleaning and Sanitation
Since the implementation of the initial COVID-19 lockdown, the WID along with management company, Geocentric, implemented various ways to safeguard the public environment through sanitation initiatives. The WID implemented a public sanitation station at one of the busiest pedestrian locations, offering the public at large the opportunity to sanitise hands.
Regenerating the Village Triangle
In November 2020 the WID team upgraded the Old Wynberg Village triangle area. The paving was cleaned with a high-pressure waterjet, broken pavers replaced, street signs renewed, bollards and chains repainted and road markings upgraded.
Urban upliftment
In December 2024, the Wynberg Improvement District team completed an urban upliftment project on the verges of the Brodie Road public parking area. The verges required an urgent level of beautification to enhance the look and feel of the area, and the team devised a plan to improve the public space around the parking area by filling the verge areas with brown chip stone, adding large planters and planting plants to improve the aesthetic impact of the area.
